Figuring Out • 1d

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not a fair comparison. AI and Salesforce both offer software for businesses but they're not the same. One is a CRM, while the other is a chatbot. They can't be compared directly. Also Salesforce has been around for the last 20–30 years while except for OpenAI, most of the AI companies included in that chart were founded less than 5 years ago (including Anthropic). So weren’t we all discussing how the fact that how these AI companies were able to scale to 100M to even billion dollar ARR in just a few months to few years. Isn’t that fact itself crazy? Comparing Salesforce with AI companies is like comparing the iPhone in 2009 to Nokia. Both look like they operate in a similar space, but they clearly don’t. Still, this does prove that while there's definitely some hype around AI, it hasn't yet reached its full potential but it's only a matter of time before it becomes truly mainstream. Anyway, I like how you're creating some controversial discussions on Medial in last few months. It's creating some great conversations and I really like them :)

Tech companies like Google and Microsoft are using more electricity than some countries, imagine the usage of electricity when AI becomes main stream.

After talking to a few companies and going through their product demos, I realized something: "AI-powered" has become a buzzword. Everyone’s selling the trend, but the value? Missing.

I seriously think agriculture will be more profitable (and way less competitive) than tech in the next 5 years. Everyone’s chasing AI. Very few are solving food. Feels like the real opportunity is in the soil

Random thought - we keep hearing AI will create a new set of jobs, but what kind? Like IT becoming the HR department of AI agents makes sense, but what other new jobs could show up in next few years? Really curious what you all think 🤔
