I think Indian academic institutions (even non-IIT/IIM) actually have MORE technical talent than many Western counterparts. What they lack is commercialization experience. Industry doesn't collaborate because academics rarely understand business timelines and ROI requirements. The best incubators I've seen focus on business model validation and market connections, not just technical excellence. And regarding funding, it's like fuel: necessary but useless without a working engine and steering wheel.
