Figuring Out • 5m

A MedTech US Concept That Could Work in India You probably know that healthcare in the US is extremely expensive. Even a basic blood test can cost hundreds of dollars. Why? Because hospitals overcharge knowing that insurance companies will pay, and those same insurance companies do everything they can to avoid paying your bill. This creates a tough situation for the patients. The solution? Kaiser Permanente! It’s a nonprofit organization that provides both insurance and runs its own hospitals. Since Kaiser itself pays the bills, its hospitals charge only necessary fees, making treatment cheaper and faster for patients. The catch? The insurance only works in Kaiser’s hospitals. And if you buy a policy in California, you can only get treatment in Californian Kaiser hospitals—even if a Kaiser branch exists elsewhere. Still, it’s a decent system. Why am I sharing this? Because they say "INdIaN StArTuPs aRe bAsIcAlLy aMeRiCaN sTaRtUp'S CoPiEs", so maybe this could work in India. What do you think?
