Using pyrolysis, food waste can be converted into a sustainable oil that could serve as an alternative to palm oil in food production. This process involves heating organic waste in the absence of oxygen to break it down into bio-oil, which can be refined for culinary use. Unlike palm oil, which drives deforestation and habitat destruction, this method can repurpose waste and reduce environmental impact, while promoting a circular economy. If developed safely for food applications, pyrolysis-based oil could offer a sustainable solution to the growing demand for vegetable oils.
