During conversations with shopkeepers, it has been observed that 20-30% of profits are turning into bad debts. To address this issue, we are considering developing an application that would allow shopkeepers to register themselves, as well as customers who purchase on credit. The app would enable shopkeepers to record instances where a customer has failed to pay their previous bills. When this occurs, the shopkeeper could mark the customer as having an outstanding debt. If the customer then attempts to purchase on credit from another registered shop, the system would notify the new shopkeeper of the unpaid bill. This would allow shopkeepers to make informed decisions on whether to extend credit to that individual, thereby helping reduce the impact of bad debts across the retail community. This application could be a valuable tool for shopkeepers in managing credit sales and ensuring greater financial security.
