i basically have a startup idea but i dont know where to start so i have this idea of creating a smartphone company . i know you are thinking what so different about it , it is way different than todays boring and distractive smartphones . the question is should i try to build software part or design part or hardware parts points that are considerable im pursuing mechanical engineering from national institute of technology my main idea in smartphone is software part and yeah design also i am learning coding (as it is basic to know c and c++ languages) i have friends in electronics and communication department there are other points also that are considerable . and i also need a co founder to help me out and a guidance to make this idea to business

bro at this level the only possible way it to focus on design because rest of thing are outsourced only . Software wise you won't be able to build with a small team so focus on Design . Go to china talk to manufacturers and give them your design and some specs they will give you the product . Rest is just marketing. now easy said then done. But this is the best case scenario

All your education background and friend's background is great but you guys are not gonna make smart phones by hand in your garage right? What's the point of having that degree and learning c and all. You need to design shit and send it out to china to be mass produced like samsung and apple and every ohter phone company in the world. Make dumb ohones instead, it is a big market. All the best.
