On the occasion of International Chess Day, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and millions of chess players came together to set a remarkable world record: the most number of chess games played in a single day. The global chess community engaged in a staggering 7,284,970 qualified chess games within a 24-hour period, achieving an impressive Guinness World Record! As part of this historic event, my ex-colleague Alexander Hogeveen Rutter (formerly at IFC - International Finance Corporation) and I played two qualified games.
