Godrej vs Dettol So untill now, you all would be aware of the Powder Handwash launched by Godrej. For those who don't, it's basically just usual Handwash refill but it's just in a powder form (similar to tang). So tou just have to add water and it's done. And since it's just powder, all the transportation cost, etc are highly reduced which makes powder Handwash refill 60% cheaper than the normal refill. So this was originally made by Godrej, and godrej isn't that popular in Handwash genre. But because of this, it's market share have increased a lot. But here's the twist! Now even Dettol have launched it's powder Handwash and because of that people (including me) are preferring Dettol more than Godrej. Why? Because of it's reputation. So even when Godrej was the first to make it (innovate), it's Dettol who's gonna take all the sales. Moral: it's very tough to compete with market leaders.
