In April 2010, Apple Inc. made a significant strategic move by acquiring Siri for over $200 million. At the time, Siri was just a standalone app for iPhones that let users perform tasks like setting reminders or making calls using voice commands. However, Apple saw the potential in this technology and decided to integrate it into their products. Apple's acquisition propelled Siri from a promising startup project to a core feature integrated into millions of Apple devices worldwide. A year later, in October 2011, Siri made its debut as a built-in feature on the iPhone 4S.
