That's just bad management though, not necessarily an indictment of having capital. Plenty of startups become bloated and inefficient while being strapped for cash. Capital is a tool that can be used well or poorly.

I'm skeptical of this whole premise. Jio revolutionized the telco market in India because of their capital. And Tata's products are generally beloved brands even if their apps need work. Execution is a different issue. At the end of the day, good capital allocation and strategy will always beat good execution without resources to back it up. But you make a fair point that overcapitalization can enable bad habits if leaders get complacent.

You make a fair point. With too much capital, there's a risk of getting arrogant and assuming throwing money at something will make it work. The hunger and scrappiness of a bootstrap startup is harder to replicate.

Fuck no, Jio Mart and BB Now are not good examples. Disrupting the entrenched e-commerce/food delivery markets is incredibly hard, even with infinite money. Their struggles have more to do with that steep challenge.
