No matter how interactive, beautifull, best , bla bla is your app UI. Sales r highly dependent your core product & it's experience. UI doesn't give experience to customer, sales does! (Thoughts invoked via CRED & it's struggling story)

I'd argue that UI/UX is still extremely important, especially for apps/websites where the interface is the product experience itself. Good UI/UX can enhance the core value prop. But you're right, it can't compensate for a weak underlying product.
