Try talking to early stage SaaS VC’s and float your idea through your head and see how they respond. Don’t go in and start pitching and ask for money, try to start the conversation as something around the space, what do they think about something on the lines of your tool, how do they look at it right now and what would interest them. That way you can get a market sentiment and some idea on how they think.
