Telegram CEO Pavel Durov to introduce ‘new features’ on his messaging app

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has announced the introduction of new features on the messaging platform, while phasing out outdated ones. This comes after Durov's recent release from prison in France, where he was charged with enabling illicit content on Telegram. The CEO blamed the sudden increase in user count for the platform's vulnerability to criminal activities. As part of moderation efforts, Telegram has removed the People Nearby feature and will introduce Businesses Nearby instead. Additionally, users will no longer be able to upload images or videos on Telegraph, Telegram's blogging tool.
