Startups Seek CCI Intervention To Resolve Google’s Delisting Move

A group representing Indian startups has asked the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to instruct Google to restore apps removed from its Play Store. The startups allege that Google's actions are anti-competitive and breach a 2022 antitrust directive regarding alternative billing systems. The Alliance of Digital India Foundation (ADIF) wrote to the CCI on 1 March claiming that Google's removal of the apps was a "brazen move" and could cause "irreparable harm". Google has denied any wrongdoing. The CCI is yet to comment on the matter.
