Qualcomm inaugurates its Chennai Design Center

Qualcomm has opened its Chennai Design Center with an investment of Rs. 177.27 crore. The center will focus on wireless connectivity solutions and contribute to Qualcomm's global R&D efforts in 5G technology. The facility is expected to create job opportunities for up to 1,600 skilled professionals and enhance India's semiconductor design ecosystem. Cristiano Amon, president of Qualcomm, highlighted the Chennai team's role in developing breakthrough Wi-Fi technologies and the company's significant investments in India. Additionally, Qualcomm announced a program supporting 6G University Research in India to foster research and leadership in emerging 6G technologies.
