The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is conducting investigations into certain fintech players to determine if their use of technology is affecting competition in the market. CCI Chairperson Ravneet Kaur stated that the enquiries are ongoing and the regulator is also focusing on big tech companies and online intermediary service providers. This move comes as part of CCI's efforts to ensure a fair and competitive digital market. Additionally, the CCI is working on the proposal of a digital competition law to regulate big tech players and prevent abuse of dominance.
