Meta's Threads now has over 175 million monthly active users, says Mark Zuckerberg

Meta-owned social media app, Threads, has surpassed 175 million monthly active users (MAUs), making it the fastest-growing consumer product in the world. Initially lacking certain basic features, Meta quickly added improvements, resulting in increased usage and downloads. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, believes Threads has the potential to become the next billion-user social network within its suite of apps, which includes Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Meta has also introduced Threads API, allowing third-party developers to extend the platform's functionality, and expanded its open social web rollout to over 100 countries, facilitating interoperability with other platforms.
