IT Minister calls for global collective efforts to deal with risks, dangers posed by AI

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the upcoming launch of India AI Mission in the next two to three months. The comprehensive mission, which received approval earlier this year, aims to address the emerging threats and risks of artificial intelligence. With an allocated budget of over Rs 10,300 crore over the next five years, the mission will focus on various components such as AI compute capacity, innovation center, datasets platform, application development initiative, future skills, startup financing, and safe AI. Vaishnaw emphasized the need for global collaboration to tackle AI challenges and highlighted the potential of AI for economic and social good, while acknowledging the dangers and risks associated with it.
