Homegrown D2C ayurvedic nutrition brand Kapiva has raised Rs 83.5 crore (approximately $10 million) led by OrbiMed Asia with the participation of 3One4 Capital and Vertex Ventures. The board at Kapiva has passed a special resolution to issue 5,62,631 compulsory convertible preference shares to raise the aforementioned sum, its regulatory filing sourced from the Registrar of Companies shows. OrbiMed Asia led the round with Rs 52.2 crore, while 3One4 Capital and Vertex Ventures participated with Rs 11.96 crore and Rs 19.33 crore, respectively. The fresh funding appears to be part of Kapiva’s Series C round, in which the firm is aiming to raise a total of Rs 250 crore. Entrackr exclusively reported about Kapiva’s Series C round in Nov 2022. With the fresh tranche, the firm has raised Rs 132 crore in the ongoing round. It had already raised Rs 48.75 crore ($6 million) in Series C from OrbiMed and other existing investors back in October 2022. Kapiva has also increased its ESOP size by adding 1,415,00 new employee stock, bringing the total ESOP pool to 4,47,741, separate filing shows. As per the Entrackr estimates, its ESOP pool size is now worth Rs 66 crore. Kapiva will use these funds for the expansion and development of the company. Kaviva has raised over $30 million to date and has notable investors including Jetty Ventures, Fireside, OrbiMed, 3One4Capital, and others. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the company has been valued at around $80 million post-allotment. Founded in 2015, Kapiva is an ayurvedic nutrition brand that offers natural and organic health and skincare products for hair fall, weight loss, digestion, diabetes in the form of juices, tea, oils, shakes et al. During the fiscal year ended March 2023, Kaviva registered 87% year-on-year growth to Rs 116.48 crore with a loss standing at Rs 64.5 crore in the same period. Kapiva is yet to file its annual results for FY24. While the D2C ayurveda space is crowded with plenty of organized brands, Upakarma Ayurveda, and Dr. Vaidya’s, Varalife, among others are Kapiva’s notable competitors.

Online astrology platform AstroTalk has raised Rs 78.3 crore or $9.5 million in an extension of its Series A round from existing investors Left Lane Capital and Elev8 Capital. The board at AstroTalk has passed a special resolution to issue 5,067 compulsory Convertible preference shares to raise Rs 78.3 crore or $9.5 million, its regulatory filing accessed from the RoC shows. Left Lane Capital pumped Rs 58.3 crore while Elev8 Capital participated with Rs 20 crore. This seems to be the tranche of a larger round. AstroTalk is reportedly in talks to raise $30 million. As per TheKredible’s estimates, the company has been valued at around Rs 2,478 crore or $300 million post-money which is a 33.3% increase from its last round. The valuation will go up with the flow of funds. AstroTalk has raised Rs 172 crore to date including Rs 166 crore or $20 million in its Series A round in February. Entrackr was the first to report the development. AstroTalk is a platform to consult astrologers via the internet, call, and chat and claims to have 13,000 astrologers, tarot readers, numerologists, and Vastu experts. The platform lets users connect with the aforementioned experts for future predictions related to marriage, love life, career, and health among others. Left Lane Capital baked firm had demonstrated strong financial performance in FY23 as its revenue grew 146% to Rs 283 crore. At the same time, AstroTalk’s profits spiked 41.7% to Rs 8.5 crore. As per the current average revenue run rate, the company is projected to end FY24 with Rs 650 crore in revenue and Rs 100 crore in profit. The company is yet to file its audited financial results for FY24. As per data compiled by TheKredible, astro and spiritual tech startups have raised around $25 million in the past 12 months. The notable names include Ustav App, DevDham, InstaAstro, AstroTalk, Vama, and Melooha also raised decent funding during the period. SriMandir’s parent company AppsForBharat is also in talks to raise $15 million in a new round. Entrackr exclusively reported the development last month.

Healthcare company Even Healthcare has raised Rs 169 crore (approximately $20 million) in a new round led by Khosla Ventures. The fresh funding for the Bengaluru-based firm has come after a gap of 20 months. The board at Even has passed a resolution to issue 2,17,589 preference shares at an issue price of Rs 7,762 each to raise Rs 169 crore or $20 million, its filing sourced from the Registrar of Companies shows. Khosla Ventures led the round with Rs 83.4 crore or $10 million while Pathfinder and Mercury Fund invested Rs 21.3 crore and 26.9 crore, respectively. Simon Fiduciaria, DLB Ventures, Lex Italia, 8 VC, Rainmatter fintech, and others cumulatively injected the rest amount. Even Healthcare has also expanded its employee stock option (ESOP) pool, adding new options that bring the total pool size to 1,35,000, according to a separate resolution filed by the company. According to Entrackr’s estimates, its ESOP size is worth $12 million. As per startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the company has been valued at around Rs 753 crore or $91 million post-allotment. Even offers subscription-based plans to cover diagnostics, consultations, and hospitalization costs of up to Rs 50 lakh. According to the company, it only partners with those hospitals that guarantee the care of its members in exchange for a recurring payment. Launched by Mayank Banerjee, Matilde Giglio and Alessandro Lalongo, Even also offers personalized managed care programs and provides Even cards which can be used to pay bills at its partner hospitals and labs. Even claims to have an advantage over medical insurance as it provides unlimited OPD consultations and diagnostics. The company has raised approximately $40 million to date, including $15 million from Alpha Wave and Aspada in November 2022, and an initial $5 million in seed capital led by Khosla Ventures in 2021. Nitin Gupta, Partner at GG Enterprises and Genesia Ventures, led the round with an investment of Rs 6.48 crore and Rs 6 crore, respectively, followed by existing investor BEENEXT, which is contributing Rs 2.16 crore. Sunrise Sunset Family Office will invest Rs 2 crore, while the remaining amount will be covered by Infinyte Club Angel Fund and Eximius Ventures, Stargazer Ventures and Ankit Agarwal. As per filings, the company has already received around Rs 10.16 crore, with the remaining amount expected to follow shortly. The Blume Venture-backed company will be valued at around Rs 300 crore or $35 million, according to Entrackr’s estimates. Founded by Anant Goel along with Nitin Gupta and Sahil Madan, Handpickd operates on a B2B2C model, delivering fresh fruits and vegetables through a tech-enabled supply chain. The company sources produce directly from local farmers and vendors, leveraging a network of micro-entrepreneurs for efficient last-mile delivery. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Handpickd has raised around $9 million from investors including BEENEXT, Blume Ventures, Kunal Bahl, Rohit Kumar Bansal. The company recorded over 2.3X year-on-year growth in operating revenue, rising to Rs 17.5 crore in FY24 from Rs 7.4 crore in FY23. Its losses remained flat at Rs 2.1 crore during the fiscal year ending March 2024. Handpickd competes with other farm-to-fork funded startups including Otipy ($49 million), Fraazo ($61 million), Deep Rooted ($20 million) which shut their operations. Handpickd also competes with Kareena Kapoor-backed startup Pluckk which is set to raise $10 million.

The board Servify has passed a special resolution to issue 2,27,170 Series D3 CCPS at an issue price of Rs 2,917 each to raise Rs 66.27 crore, its regulatory filing sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows. BEENEXT Capital, through its BEE Accelerate Fund2, will invest Rs 48.27 crore, with the remaining amount coming from the Singularity Growth Opportunities Fund. According to the valuation report attached by the company, its post-money valuation will be around $690–700 million. Last year, the firm secured $10 million through a mix of equity and debt at a valuation of $852 million. Servify offers brand-authorized after-sales support for mobile phones, personal gadgets, electronics, and home appliances. The platform allows consumers to add their household electronic gadgets onto the platform, store the bills, and access authentic brand-authorized service during or beyond the warranty period. Servify recorded a 23.6% year-on-year growth, with revenue rising to Rs 755 crore during the last fiscal year (FY24) from Rs 611 crore in FY23. However, the company's losses declined sharply by 59% to Rs 94 crore in the same period.

Exclusive: Shadowfax kicks off Series F round at $712 Mn valuation Logistics firm Shadowfax has secured Rs 34.2 crore (around $4 million) in its Series F round. The development has come nearly 11 months after raising $100 million in its last funding round. The board at Shadowfax has passed a special resolution to allot 5773 Series F compulsory cumulative preference shares at an issue price of Rs 59,320 each to raise Rs 34.2 crore or $4 million, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies shows. Mirae Asset invested Rs 17.4 crore, while Nokia Growth Partners contributed Rs 16.79 crore in the round. Shadowfax is reportedly aiming to raise $50 million, with this investment being part of a larger raise. According to Entrackr’s estimates, the Flipkart-backed company has been valued at around Rs 5,981 crore or $712 million post-allotment. The valuation might change with the flow of more funds. Shadowfax provides services to a vast network of customers with industry-leading Turnaround Time (TAT) at competitive prices. It boasts a unique crowdsourcing network comprising 125,000 monthly active delivery partners and 3.5 million registered users. The Bengaluru-based company has raised over $200 million to date. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Eight Road Ventures is the largest external stakeholder followed by Flipkart, Newquest Asia and Nokia Growth Partners. Shadowfax reportedly plans to raise Rs 2500-3000 Cr IPO in the second half of the ongoing calendar year and the company also tapped JM Financial, Morgan Stanley and ICICI Securities as the lead bankers for the initial public offering. Shadowfax has reported a 33.2% year-on-year growth to Rs 1,415 crore during the previous fiscal year ended March 2024. Moreover, the company has managed to reduce its losses significantly by 91.7% to Rs 11.8 crore from Rs 142.6 crore in FY23. In terms of competition, Delhivery, a publicly listed company, reported Rs 8,594 crore in revenue for FY24. Ecom Express posted Rs 2,609 crore in revenue for FY24 and has secured board approval for a Rs 2,600 crore IPO. Other key competitors for Shadowfax include XpressBees, Shiprocket, and Blue Dart.
