Exclusive: FableStreet parent FS Life to raise $4 Mn in Series B FS Life, the parent company of D2C women's fashion brand FableStreet, is raising Rs 35.54 crore (around $4 million) led by Colossa Ventures with the participation of existing investor Fireside Ventures and others. This is the first fundraise for the company in 3 years since it raised Rs 50 crore in its pre-Series B round led by Fireside Ventures. The board at FS life passed a resolution to issue 10,282 Series B compulsory convertible preference shares at an issue price of Rs 34,568 each to raise the aforementioned sum, as per its regulatory filing with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Colossa Ventures, through its Colossa WomenFirst Fund, will lead the round with an investment of Rs 10 crore, followed by Fireside Ventures with Rs 7 crore. ASA Holdings and HirePro Consulting will contribute Rs 3 crore and Rs 2.5 crore, respectively. A group of angel investors, including Rahul Garg, Rahul Kayan, and others, will also participate in the round. The company has already received Rs 9.44 crore from the above round in July from Fireside Ventures, Mirabilis Investment Trust, and others, with the remaining amount expected to be received soon. According to Entrackr's estimates, FS Lifeโ€™s valuation remained flat at Rs 370 crore or $42 million post-money. Founded in 2015 by Ayushi Gudwani, FS Life is a house of womenโ€™s apparel and lifestyle brands, including FableStreet, March Jewellery, and Pinkfort. FableStreet focuses on western wear with an emphasis on perfect fits, March offers sterling silver and semi-precious jewellery, while Pinkfort caters to modern Indian wear with a contemporary take on traditional styles. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the Gurugram-based company has raised over $9.5 million to date, with Fireside Ventures as its lead investor. The company is yet to disclose its FY25 financials. In FY24, it recorded over 40% year-on-year growth in operating revenue, while its losses widened by 70% to Rs 17 crore during the same period. FS Life competes with other D2C fashion and jewellery brands such as NEWME, which raised $18 million in July last year, as well as FabAlley, Fashor (ethnic wear), and jewellery startups like GIVA and Palmonas, among others.

Lohum Cleantech, a producer of clean energy transition materials through battery recycling and repurposing, has raised Rs 119 crore (approximately $14.5 million) as a part of its ongoing Series B round. The board at Lohum has passed a special resolution to issue 844 Series B2 CCPS at an issue price of Rs 14,13,632 each to raise Rs 119.31 crore, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies shows. Singularity Growth led the tranche with Rs 55 crore while Vyoman India and Baring Private Equity poured in Rs 11 crore and Rs 10 crore, respectively. Angel investors Mukul Mahavirparasad Agarwal and Madhuri Madhusudan invested Rs 11 crore and Rs 10 crore each. The company has passed a separate board resolution to issue 2,501 debentures to Stride Ventures debt fund to raise Rs 25 crore. Lohum will use these proceeds for the capital expenditures, marketing, and general corporate purposes of the company as per the business plan approved by the board, the company said in the filing. Following the fresh funds, Baring Private Equity holds 5.58% while Cactus Partners and Singularity Growth Opportunities command 2.89% and 1.62%, respectively, in the firm. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the company has been valued at around Rs 3,470 crore or $422 million post-allotment. The company had previously raised $7 million in January 2021. It has already raised $23 million as part of the series B, which kicked in August last year. As per media reports, it was in talks to raise $100 million in Series B. Lohum claims to be one of the largest producers of sustainable energy transition materials through integrated battery recycling & raw material refining and battery repurposing. As per Lohum, its lithium-ion battery material recycling and extraction technology regenerates top-quality materials and produces zero waste. It repurposes EV batteries to make second-life energy storage systems (ESS) for renewable energy storage and grid stabilization. Lohum has shown an impressive financial performance with its revenue surging 2.9X to Rs 308 crore in FY23 from Rs 106 crore in FY23. The company also posted a profit of Rs 8.88 crore in the same period.

Wealth and asset management company Neo has raised Rs 220 crore or $26.5 million in its Series B led by Crystal Investment. This is the second significant round for the Mumbai-based company in the past 9 months. The board at Neo has approved issuing Series B preference shares at an issue price of Rs 3,12,421 each to raise $26.5 million, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows. Crystal investments pumped in Rs 140 crore (approximately $16.8 million) while Mufg Bank and individual investor Deepak Agarwal participated with Rs 78 crore and Rs 2 crore, respectively. This seems to be part of an ongoing round and the firm may raise more funds.. As per TheKredibleโ€™s estimates, the company has been valued at around Rs 1,920 crore or $231 million post-allotment. Neo has raised around $104 million to date including its $35 million Series B round led by Peak XV in October last year. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Peak VV was the largest external shareholder, holding 22.22% of the company. Meanwhile, its co-foundersโ€”Nitin Jain, Varun Bajpai, and Hemant Dograโ€”collectively held 63.81% prior to this funding round. Neo provides advisory and yield-based investment solutions to high and ultra-high net worth individuals including indigenous family offices. The three-year-old firm demonstrated supper growth in the fiscal year ending March 2023 as its revenue ballooned 9X to Rs 65.1 crore. Neo achieved such growth with a mere loss of Rs 3.6 crore during FY23. The company is yet to disclose its FY24 results.

Online astrology platform AstroTalk has raised Rs 78.3 crore or $9.5 million in an extension of its Series A round from existing investors Left Lane Capital and Elev8 Capital. The board at AstroTalk has passed a special resolution to issue 5,067 compulsory Convertible preference shares to raise Rs 78.3 crore or $9.5 million, its regulatory filing accessed from the RoC shows. Left Lane Capital pumped Rs 58.3 crore while Elev8 Capital participated with Rs 20 crore. This seems to be the tranche of a larger round. AstroTalk is reportedly in talks to raise $30 million. As per TheKredibleโ€™s estimates, the company has been valued at around Rs 2,478 crore or $300 million post-money which is a 33.3% increase from its last round. The valuation will go up with the flow of funds. AstroTalk has raised Rs 172 crore to date including Rs 166 crore or $20 million in its Series A round in February. AstroTalk is a platform to consult astrologers via the internet, call, and chat and claims to have 13,000 astrologers, tarot readers, numerologists, and Vastu experts. The platform lets users connect with the aforementioned experts for future predictions related to marriage, love life, career, and health among others. Left Lane Capital baked firm had demonstrated strong financial performance in FY23 as its revenue grew 146% to Rs 283 crore. At the same time, AstroTalkโ€™s profits spiked 41.7% to Rs 8.5 crore. As per the current average revenue run rate, the company is projected to end FY24 with Rs 650 crore in revenue and Rs 100 crore in profit. The company is yet to file its audited financial results for FY24. As per data compiled by TheKredible, astro and spiritual tech startups have raised around $25 million in the past 12 months. The notable names include Ustav App, DevDham, InstaAstro, AstroTalk, Vama, and Melooha also raised decent funding during the period. SriMandirโ€™s parent company AppsForBharat is also in talks to raise $15 million in a new round. Entrackr exclusively reported the development last month.

Healthcare startup Doceree has raised Rs 113.5 crore (approximately $13.6 million) from Indian private equity firm Creaegis. The board at Doceree has passed a special resolution to issue 10 equity and 2,4300 CCPS at an issue price of Rs 4,672 per share to raise Rs 113.5 crore, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies shows. Importantly, Doceree has received its investments in its local India entity for the first time. Prior to this round, the company had used its holding entity in the US to receive all fundings. Doceree has raised over $50 million to date including $35 million in its Series B round led by Creaegis. Previously, it raised $11 million in a Series A round led by Eight Road Ventures in 2022. Four-year-old Doceree aims to empower pharmaceutical and life-sciences companies and healthcare media agencies with solutions that reach HCPs (healthcare professionals) on their networks to achieve better patient health outcomes. In May last year, Doceree collaborated with Hello Health Group to foray into eight Southeast Asian countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, Philippines and Taiwan. As per startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Doceree registered 60% surge in its operating revenue to Rs 26.6 crore in FY23 from Rs 16.6 crore in FY22. During the period, its losses increase to only Rs 1.53 crore from Rs 38 lakh. Creaegis closed its maiden fund at about $426 million (Rs 3,500 crore) last year. Its portfolio includes Medikabazaar, Zopper, and Kale Logistics among others. Creaegis also has made its major investments in Third Wave Coffee and Zopper.

After this funding round, Vertex Ventures and IFC VVSEA Co-Invest together will hold a 22.89% stake, while Avaana Capital and Chakra Growth Capital will own 17.02% and 1.51% stakes, respectively. Founded in 2020 by Akshay Shekhar and Vaibhav Tyagi, Kazam is an EV charging software platform that develops smart and affordable charging networks. Its technology supports a wide variety of vehicles, including two-wheelers, commercial electric vehicles (CEVs), three-wheelers, and city buses. It claims to power over 25,000 charging points. The Bengaluru-based firm works with the likes of BigBasket, Zypp, Mahindra, Bajaj, Ather, TVS, Hero MotoCorp, and Ultraviolette. The company is yet to file its annual results for FY25. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, its revenue from operations surged 3.3X to Rs 12.19 crore during the fiscal year ended in March 2024 while its losses stood at Rs 10.2 crore in the same fiscal year.

Beauty and personal care D2C firm Pilgrim has raised Rs 75 crore (approximately $9 million) in its extended Series B round led by Fireside and Vertex Ventures. Fireside and Vertex Ventures pumped in Rs 25 crore and Rs 23 crore, respectively. NSFO Ventures, Mirabilis Investment, and NABS Vriddhi cumulatively invested Rs 27 crore during the round. The company will use these proceeds for expansion and general corporate purposes as decided by the board, the filings further added. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the companyโ€™s valuation has soared to approximately Rs 2,075 crore (around $250 million) post-allotment. Founded by Anurag Kedia in 2019, Pilgrim offers more than 90 SKUs across face care, haircare, and skincare products, and fragrances in over 25,000 pin codes. The company said that it offers a wide range of products curated with ingredients from France, Korea, Spain, Australia, the Amazon Rainforest, and Swiss glaciers. The five-year-old firm has raised around $35 million across rounds including its $20 million Series B led by Vertex Ventures in 2023. The company posted 4.47X growth in scale to Rs 76 crore in FY23 from Rs 17 crore in FY22. In pursuit of growth, its losses also jumped 3X to Rs 23 crore in FY23. Pilgrim is yet to file annual results for FY24.

Shadowfax is reportedly aiming to raise $50 million, with this investment being part of a larger raise. According to Entrackrโ€™s estimates, the Flipkart-backed company has been valued at around Rs 5,981 crore or $712 million post-allotment. The valuation might change with the flow of more funds. Shadowfax provides services to a vast network of customers with industry-leading Turnaround Time (TAT) at competitive prices. It boasts a unique crowdsourcing network comprising 125,000 monthly active delivery partners and 3.5 million registered users. The Bengaluru-based company has raised over $200 million to date. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Eight Road Ventures is the largest external stakeholder followed by Flipkart, Newquest Asia and Nokia Growth Partners. Shadowfax reportedly plans to raise Rs 2500-3000 Cr IPO in the second half of the ongoing calendar year and the company also tapped JM Financial, Morgan Stanley and ICICI Securities as the lead bankers for the initial public offering. Shadowfax has reported a 33.2% year-on-year growth to Rs 1,415 crore during the previous fiscal year ended March 2024. Moreover, the company has managed to reduce its losses significantly by 91.7% to Rs 11.8 crore from Rs 142.6 crore in FY23. In terms of competition, Delhivery, a publicly listed company, reported Rs 8,594 crore in revenue for FY24. Ecom Express posted Rs 2,609 crore in revenue for FY24 and has secured board approval for a Rs 2,600 crore IPO. Other key competitors for Shadowfax include XpressBees, Shiprocket, and Blue Dart.
