Electric vehicle drivers who are unable to install chargers at home are turning to alternative solutions offered by US and European firms to overcome the lack of public charging infrastructure. These solutions include online platforms that allow people to rent out their chargers, mobile charging services, and "pavement gullies" for properties with no driveways. While these solutions can alleviate the charging infrastructure problem, they are not enough to solve it on a large scale. The development of public charging networks has been hindered by regulations, bureaucracy, and outdated planning regulations.
