EU regulators assess Apple's plan for complying with music streaming order

EU antitrust regulators are evaluating whether Apple's proposed solution complies with their directive to let Spotify and other music streaming platforms inform users about payment alternatives outside the App Store. If the proposal doesn't meet the European Commission's satisfaction, Apple could face antitrust charges and additional fines on top of the €1.84 billion penalty imposed last month. Apple's proposal permits Spotify and others to include links on their apps, enabling users to purchase digital content or services through alternative methods. However, these transactions would still incur a 27% fee to Apple. The Commission is currently assessing Apple's compliance with its previous decision.
