Applied Materials expands collaboration  with Indian semiconductor firms

US chip equipment supplier Applied Materials will partner with semiconductor supplier organizations in India to expedite commercialization and develop a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem. The company previously announced plans to establish an engineering center in Bengaluru with a $400 million investment over four years to advance technologies for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The engineering center will facilitate collaboration between engineers, suppliers, and research institutions to accelerate the development of semiconductor equipment and components. Applied Materials estimates that the center could generate 500 new engineering jobs and 2,500 jobs within the manufacturing ecosystem.
