Agri LLM Dhenu 1.0 on pilot to seed a new AI revolution

Indian agricultural AI startup Kissan AI has unveiled Dhenu 1.0, a large language model for agriculture named after a divine bovine-goddess in Hindu mythology. Trained on conversational datasets focused on Indian agriculture practices, Dhenu is designed to assist Indian farmers with agriculture-related questions. It is bilingual, trained on 300,000 instruction sets in English and Hindi. Kissan AI aims to develop a high-quality model that can be integrated with agriculture companies and provide market analysis, weather data, policy information, and equipment details to farmers. The startup has also partnered with the United Nations Development Programme to develop a vernacular co-pilot for climate resilient agriculture practices targeting rural, smallholder, and women farmers.
