   During my internship and site visit at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) of MUL which is designed to meet immediate stage gross demand is 5.23 MLD whereas in the year 2047 it will reach 6.5 MLD, I acquired knowledge about various aspects of the plant's operations and processes. Here's a brief summary of what you learned: → Aeration and Design Features: You gained insights into the importance of aeration in the water treatment process and learned about the design features of the cascade aerator used in the WTP. → Flash Mixers and Chemical Additions: You studied the role of flash mixers in the treatment process and learned about the quantities of bleaching powder and alum that are added to the water to facilitate purification. → Clarifoculator: You understood how the clariflocculator functions, including the detention period of water in the center and outer flocculation chambers. Additionally, you learned about the type of weir used in this process. → Rapid Gravity Sand Filter: You explored the working principle of the rapid gravity sand filter and gained knowledge about the backwashing procedure and the structural details of the filter. → Post Chlorination: You learned about the purpose and methods of post chlorination, which is carried out after the primary treatment stages. Additionally, you discovered the type of pipe used for this process. → Pump House: You observed the operations of the pump house and learned about the pumping mechanisms that transport water from the WTP to different Elevated Service Reservoirs (ESRs). SCADA System: SCADA stands for Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition. You gained an understanding of this system and its implementation in the WTP. SCADA provides a means to monitor and control various processes within the plant. It collects real-time data from sensors and equipment, allowing operators to remotely manage and optimize the plant's operations.
