A lot of people became extremely successful in India. But most of them didn't do anything special with that success. Most just kept making money. And more, and more, and more. And that was that. Kamath Brothers are showing a new way to be rich. A blueprint on what to do "after" you've made it. They make money, yes. But then they also invest in mission oriented startups, support people and causes at the grassroots, have fun talking to the most interesting people around the world, and champion genuine humility while at it. This is all so great! It used to be fashionable to "hate the rich". But how do you hate someone who is consistently doing everything in their power to make something good with the money they're blessed with? For such people, even if they're rich, hate is not the feeling. It's usually respect and admiration. Even love. Even care. A lot of people would think none of this would make any significant difference to how India operates. How does it matter if Sanjeev Bikhchandani Sir, Sridhar Vembu Sir, or Kamath Brothers choose to behave in a certain way? Yes, they might have transformed India's startup ecosystem, showed how the country could look at development beyond the Metropolitans, or created a new paradigm in the world of public discourse (amongst other things). But majority of India's rich are still cash stashing, real estate investing, apathetic money laundering Chindies, right? Well, they'd be surprised to learn about the "law of the few". The world, or India, doesn't need a lot of people to "change". The majority doesn't matter. All it needs is a few people at the right place to really make things "tip". Consider this. About 20 years ago, Mr. Gates started a company called Terrapower. It was a nuclear power project with no guaruntee of success. A new type of nuclear power plant, which was on paper, safer than any existing plant, with temperatures held under control by the laws of physics instead of human operators who could make mistakes. At the time Mr. Gates got involved with the Natrium plant, this technology was just an idea in a lab and on a computer screen. But not anymore. It's finally hit the ground. Terrapower will now have its first Natrium plant in Wyoming. The most advanced Nuclear Plant in the world. And yet again, America will be at the frontier of a huge technological revolution, which was helped by the collective effort of many people, sure; but led by the foresight and financial wherewithal of just one man - Mr. Bill Gates. Quite simply, if it weren't for Mr. Gates' foresight over 20 years ago, America might not have gotten such an edge for the next 40. Just as if it weren't for Mr. Musk, US wouldn't have had the AI and robotics revolution which is going to blow everyone's mind in 2026. Big changes actually come from very, very few people at the top. India is finally getting its "few" who are happy to take on some good work. The contagion effects of this will change everything. May god bless India.

Either solve the problems of a few rich people or a lot of poor people. But don't get stuck in between trying to sell average products at average prices to average people.
